Strutt ev¹c

Strutt ev¹c questions

The detail people ask about the machine itself: how it behaves, what it weighs, how it comes apart and what the warranty covers. For questions about buying, trialling and hiring, see the general FAQ. If your question is not here, call 0490 756 659 or email info@keytoindependence.com.au.

Using the ev¹c

What makes the ev¹c different from a standard powerchair?

It combines intelligent sensors with a Quad-Drive system, so the machine reads the world around you.

How fast does it go?

10km/h. Australian machines are set to that limit to meet Australian requirements, and there are lower speed levels below it for indoors and tight spaces.

Is there a weight limit?

The ev¹c and ev¹e are designed for riders between 25kg and 160kg. Young children may only use them under continuous adult supervision.

How far will it go on a charge?

Up to 32km, or about 26km with evSense running. Real range depends on the rider, the terrain and how much climbing is involved, so treat it as a guide rather than a promise.

Are there subscription fees?

No. The core features are included in the purchase price. A small number of optional cloud and cellular services are charged separately, and you are told about those up front.

Do the onboard cameras record me?

No. The cameras activate only for safety and functional features. They do not run continuously.

Where do I find the serial number?

Two places: swipe down on the onboard screen and open Information, or lift the seat cushion — it is printed underneath, below the Allen key storage slot.

Size, weight and transport

How much do the ev¹c and ev¹e weigh?

63.8kg in total, excluding the battery. The machine separates into parts for transport: front chassis 18.2kg, rear chassis 19.8kg, seat 18.4kg, main arm 7.4kg and battery 5.8kg.

Component weights are accurate to within ±5%. Whether that works for your car and the person doing the lifting is exactly the sort of thing a trial answers quickly.

What are the assembled dimensions?

1046mm long, 584–660mm wide and 872–982mm high, depending on configuration.

Can it be taken on a plane?

Yes. Strutt make a separate flight-safe battery for air travel and we can supply it. Talk to us before you book so we can confirm what your airline will need.

After-sales and warranty

These warranty terms are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing on this page reduces or replaces them.

Is the Strutt ev¹c covered by warranty?

Yes. Every machine bought through an official Strutt channel or an authorised dealer is covered against manufacturing defects in normal use, and we are Strutt’s exclusive Victorian distributor. Cover is set by component: main frame 5 years; suspension, powertrain, battery and charging, and electrical parts 12 months each; wear parts and upholstery dead on arrival only.

A part that is repaired or replaced carries the remainder of the original period rather than a new one. The component-by-component detail is on the Strutt warranty section, and we will confirm the terms that apply to your order in writing before you buy.

When does the warranty period start?

From the date the machine is activated, as recorded in Strutt’s system, not the date you ordered it.

What does the warranty cover?

If a part fails because of a material or manufacturing defect while the machine is being used and maintained normally, and it is still inside its period, you can claim warranty service. Which components are covered, and what each one excludes, is set out in Strutt’s warranty policy.

What is not covered?

Strutt list these as outside the warranty: damage from improper use or from not following the user manual; damage from an accident, external impact, water ingress, fire or another unforeseen event; unauthorised disassembly, repair or modification; normal wear and tear or the ageing of consumable parts; anything outside the warranty period; and machines bought second-hand.

How do I check whether my machine is still under warranty?

You need the serial number or your proof of purchase. Call us on 0490 756 659 with either and we will confirm the warranty status for you; Strutt’s own customer service can also check it.

Who do I contact if something goes wrong?

Call us first on 0490 756 659 — we are your local dealer and on-call support is part of what you buy. Strutt’s after-sales team can also be reached at support@strutt.inc, and there is a live chat inside the Strutt app.

Does after-sales service reach everywhere?

We offer a pick up and delivery service, with costs depending on your location, and we carry out servicing and repairs in Ballarat, Victoria. Strutt note that standard service options can be limited on outlying islands, in remote territories, and anywhere logistics access is restricted; in those places a warranty claim, return, exchange or repair may mean covering round-trip shipping to and from a designated service centre. Tell us where you are and we will be straight with you about what service looks like there before you commit.

What actually happens when I make a claim?

The practical side — who collects the machine, how long a repair takes, and whether a hire machine can cover the gap — depends on the fault and where you live, so we will not promise a timeline we have not checked. Call us on 0490 756 659 and we will tell you what will happen before anything is agreed.

Still deciding?

Book a free trial and use the machine in your own routine before you commit to anything. Free trials are available within 50km of Ballarat, and trials further afield can be arranged for an additional fee.
