Warranty and support

Phoenix Instinct warrants every Phoenix i. The terms below are the manufacturer's standard terms, taken from section 8.4 of the Phoenix i user manual (November 2024). Phoenix Instinct's full terms and conditions are available on request.

What is covered, and for how long

Carbon fibre frame
3 years
All other components
12 months

The 12-month cover excludes wear and tear, misuse, and not following the instructions set out in the user manual.

Conditions of the warranty

  • Only Phoenix Instinct wheelchairs purchased at full price are warranted against defective workmanship and materials.
  • If a defect or fault is discovered, Phoenix Instinct should be notified immediately.
  • The manufacturer will not accept responsibility for damage caused by wear and tear, misuse, or not following the instructions set out in the manual.
  • During the period of warranty, any parts that become defective through faulty workmanship or materials will be renewed or repaired free of charge by the Phoenix Instinct dealer.
  • The warranty will be forfeited should any unauthorised alteration be made to the equipment.
  • The purchaser's statutory rights under consumer protection law are not affected.
  • If you fit additional adaptions to your Phoenix i, you must obtain written authorisation from Phoenix Instinct. Otherwise possible liability claims cannot be asserted.

What the warranty does not cover

The warranty does not extend to consequential costs resulting from fault clearance, in particular freight and travel costs, loss of earnings and expenses. Phoenix Instinct is not liable for:

  • normal wear and tear
  • inappropriate or incorrect use
  • defective assembly or setting up by the purchaser or a third party
  • defective or neglectful treatment
  • use of unsuitable spares

Abrasion damage to the carbon fibre is not covered either. The footrest has corner guards that protect the frame when you dismantle the chair — replace them once they wear down, and ask us if you need new ones.

Support after delivery

Delivery includes handover training, and afterwards you have on-call support on 0490 756 659. Ask us to confirm your warranty in writing with your quote.

These warranty terms are in addition to the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded. If something is faulty you may still be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under that law.
